Stupid Life, Always Getting in the Way

I planned on doing a training ride tonight after work, but I have feeling that it is not going to happen. This week at work is going to be crazy busy and the same goes with life outside of work. In addition to all that stuff, I feel like I am starting to catch a cold! WHY ME, I have already been sick 2 times in the past 2 months! Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday I can put some miles in. Stay tuned for more, kid-o’s.

Here is my total for my 300/30 goal (starting 12/31/09):
186.27 of 300 miles (63%)

Saturday’s Ride to the Farm

This past Saturday, I rode out to Joe’s Farm Grill and The Coffee Shop to meet my family for lunch. I couldn’t have asked for better weather, but I did ask for better drivers. I actually had a scare when a dumpster fell off a guys truck and rolled into the road. Luckily for me it rolled into the median and not into the bike lane.

The ride ended up being 33 miles and I did it in 1hr 45mins. I am actually pretty happy with this result, must have been the coffee I had afterwards.

Did a night ride after work. I was wanting to put in 40 miles but the route I picked ended up being 30 miles. I was was too cold and hungry to do more, however I was not too tired (which is a good sign)!

Had a fun day yesterday… Rode to work, had a good day at work, rode home, did a night ride with my buddy Derek (getting him back on the saddle), had cartel coffee and then rode home. It was so much fun that I am doing another night ride tonight after work. hoping to get 40miles (cross my fingers). Below is the tally for yesterday…

Ride to work: 4.8 miles
Work to home: 4.8 miles
Night ride with Derek: 22.8 miles

My 300 miles in 30 days tally so far (started 12/31/09):
300-30

Ride to Work

I am trying to figure out if this ride to work is in any way helping my conditioning. My first thought is no. It is just too short, and with out having showers at work I cant really make it a sprint without feeling gross all day. I also feel weird riding an all carbon race bike just 5 miles to work and 5 miles back home at the end of the day. Think it is time to invest in a proper commuting bike… looking at the Pake C’mute

I am also confused if this should count towards my 300 miles in 30 days… I guess it should? Here is my progress so far (since 12/31/09)

Short & Sweet (and Cold & Dark)

Natassia took a late nap on Saturday after we ran around town, so i decided to head off for a quick ride. I planned it doing a longer route but didn’t get out the door until 5pm. I also thought it was not going to get as cold as it did once the sun hide behind the mountains. Next time I will remember my light and my gilet! Yeah I said gilet, what you going to do about it.

Ride to Fountain Hills From Home

Went for a somewhat nice ride on New Year’s eve, It was windy and false flat (headwind) on the way out which made the way back a lot more fun. The elevation chart is backwards – I didn’t start recording the ride untill I was half way done.

Not a New Years Resolution

I plan on making this website a journal of my cycling; training, explorations, interest, nutrition and journal of growth. My goal here is to eventually find my self on a team competing in some fashion (high hopes).

Mission #1

I am using my iPhone and the MapMyRide app to record my rides and I noticed a challenge on the MapMyRide website that was 300 miles in 30 days. This seems like an easy enough thing to do, but lets just see if that is true.
